Romesdal Croft is a small farm (croft) home to a fold of registered, pedigree Highland Cattle and a small flock of Cheviot sheep. We are part of a small scale, eco-friendly, farming system and welcome guests from home and abroad who have an interest in this kind of lifestyle. However, as we are a working croft with three working sheepdogs (border collies) we are unsuitable for guests with pets. Also, we have recently erected a large Polytunnel and planted some fruit trees and are looking forward to this produce in future.
The scenery of Skye is tremendous, wildlife abounds and there is much to do and see. And if you enjoy taking photographs of our Highland Cattle there will be ample opportunities.
Off course we have friends and family who enjoy visiting Romesdal and one of those, Joe Friedman, has written a children’s book – ‘The Secret Dog’ – inspired by life on the croft. This is a very good read for adults and teenagers as well as children. You can find a link to the website here – The Secret Dog
